Ultimate Weapons (GT, BH, DW) Sync Guide

Ultimate Weapons Sync is used for Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower, Black Hole.pngBlack Hole and Death Wave.pngDeath Wave cooldown time upgrade tactics that will maximize the coin gains by making them activate at the same time after set intervals of time.

It's part of The Tower - Idle Tower Defense Guides series, where you can find the rest of the guides on the game.

It's extremely important to properly time upgrades for Ultimate Weapons.pngUltimate Weapons cooldowns and plan ahead, since one mistake may easily cost you hundreds or even thousands of Power Stone.pngStones and set you back for months. Main rule of thumb is do not touch GT, BH and DW cooldowns unless you know what you're doing. You can upgrade other UW stats freely, but in any case, it's better to save Power Stone.pngStones up, since sync it pretty much essential for the smooth progress and Coin.pngCoins flow.

Sync is important for Coin.pngCoins gain because GT's coin bonus combines multiplicatively with BH's coin bonus (researchable in the lab). So, a x10 GT bonus and a x5 BH bonus means enemies that die in your BH while GT is active will drop x50 coin. All other Coin multipliers will be added on top of that.

GT, BH and UW Sync Basics[edit source]

So how to properly sync your GT, BH and DW?

Each of the ultimate weapons has its own cooldown:

If you never touched their cooldowns, they are already partially synced and will activate when their cooldowns will end at the same time, every 10 minutes (every second GT will trigger at the same time as every third BH).

If you incrementally reduce GT's cooldown, GT and BH will no longer sync up as often as they would if you leave it at 300s (5:00). For example, if you drop GT cooldown to 270s (4:30), then your BH and GT will only trigger together once every 90 minutes.

Keeping GT cooldown at 300s (5:00) until you save up all the Power Stone.pngStones you need to drop it to 200s all at once will provide you with the highest possible coin gain until you reach true sync at 200s (3:20).

Same goes for Death Wave.pngDeath Wave, but since Black Hole.pngBlack Hole and Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower combo gives insanely powerful Coins boost, we need to focus on syncing them and working on Death Wave.pngDeath Wave afterwards.

True full Sync[edit source]

True full sync is when Ultimate Weapons.pngUltimate Weapons have 1:1 Cooldown sync and activate together every time. It will essentially increase the uptime of both skills working together for even more coins gains.

In order to reach full Sync it's recommended to leave Black Hole.pngBlack Hole cooldown intact on 200s (3:20) and save up 910 Power Stone.pngStones to lower the Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower cooldown from 300s(5:00) to 200s(3:20) in once go. That will prevent desync and will allow you to farm coins more effectively while you are saving stones.

When GT and BH are synced you can save up to lower the Death Wave.pngDeath Wave cooldown as well, that way all 3 main Coin farming UWs can activate together.

Afterwards save up enough stones when you plan to upgrade cooldowns for all the synced Ultimate Weapons.pngUltimate Weapons.

Partial Sync[edit source]

Partial sync is when your Ultimate Weapons.pngUltimate Weapons do not activate together every time, but on some time intervals their cooldowns match that triggers several of them. Most of the time you would like to avoid going to the partial sync if your cooldowns aren't upgraded, but in case of the accidental early upgrades to the cooldown, it might be beneficial to go for a Part Sync.

Keep in mind, that you should try to avoid lowering cooldown on the Black Hole.pngBlack Hole at all costs, since it increase full sync costs drastically.

Major Partial Sync Timers

300s (5:00) 200s (3:20) 600s (10:00)
250s (4:10) 200s (3:20) 1000s (16:20)
270s (4:30) 180s (3:00) 520s (9:00)
300s (5:00) 150s (2:30) 300s (5:00)

If you screwed up[edit source]

In case if you lowered the cooldown of Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower, Death Wave.pngDeath Wave or Black Hole.pngBlack Hole do not worry too much and go for Partial Sync or just grind it out.

Lowering the cooldown on Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower or Death Wave.pngDeath Wave is not as bad, as lowering it on Black Hole.pngBlack Hole though, since it leads to a way higher Power Stone.pngStones cost to fix it and get back in sync.

You can also use Multiverse Nexus Modules.pngModule that will sync your UWs no matter what at a cost of longer cooldown.

Overall, it seems that difference between nonupgraded cooldowns and desync is about 50% less Coins, so while it's a lot, it is in no way fatal.

Multiverse Nexus[edit source]

Multiverse Nexus Modules.pngModule can help to sync your Golden Tower.pngGolden Tower, Death Wave.pngDeath Wave and Black Hole.pngBlack Hole at a cost of higher cooldown. Their cooldown will be the average of those 3 Ultimate Weapons with some added or subtracted time based on the module level.

  • Epic Multiverse Nexus: +20s.
  • Legendary Multiverse Nexus: +10s.
  • Mythic Multiverse Nexus: +1s.
  • Ancestral Multiverse Nexus: -10s.

That might solve most of your syncing issues, but in the long term it's still better to have them synced in case if you would like to use another module. Moreover, Epic and Legendary rarities add cooldown time, which lowers UW's efficiency.

Golden Bot Sync[edit source]

Syncing Golen bot to Golden Tower is a totally different topic and is a bit complicated. Default cooldown of the Golden Bot is 120 seconds and it can be decreased throguhg Lab.pngLab Research and Event Medal Upgrades. Medals decrease cooldown by 3 sec, while Labs decrease it by 1. That means that you need to properly balance your labs and medal upgrades to make it match with your BH and GT and that will require some preparations.

Following table helps to find proper sync times for the GT. First column represents your cooldown time of your BH/GT/DW, which you can either do a 1:1 sync with GB, or for many cases, a 2:1 sync (or even a 3:1 sync, though that may be circumstantially unlikely).

Below is a chart of all of the possibilities of Golden Bot cooldown time, according to lab levels on right and medal levels on the top. I've highlighted in red the times (which point to the combinations of labs and medals) where a 1:1 or 2:1 sync can occur.

The next important concept is that if I'm planning on doing stone upgrades to reduce my BH/GT cooldown, I have to follow a diagonal going down and to the right, so there are paths that you can follow. But in short, I believe the best path is the purple one because it will involve the smallest jumps in terms of spending stones and/or progressing through lab levels in order to maintain a sync-able time than can continue all the way down to 50 seconds.
