Death Wave is an Ultimate Weapons.pngUltimate Weapon that spawns several Effect waves applying modifiers to the enemies, followed by Death Wave dealing damage and killing the enemies.

Death Wave Mechanics[edit | edit source]

Death Wave spawns some effect waves before unleashing a Death Wave.

Core Mechanics[edit | edit source]

  • Death Wave:
    • The Death Wave is a single, powerful wave that deals damage based on a "damage pool."
    • Damage Pool: This pool accumulates damage through multiple activations, rather than resetting with each new use. The damage pool only decreases by the exact amount required to destroy enemies, factoring in any bonuses.
    • Persistence: The Death Wave stays active in your tower's range until all the damage from the pool is used up.

Effect Waves[edit | edit source]

The effect waves apply all 5 lab-able effects and Death Wave+ ( if owned) on-hit: health bonus when unit dies, coin bonus when unit dies, cell bonus when elite unit dies, armor stripping on hit, damage wave damage amp (which is effectively a reduction in how much the enemy drain from the damage wave's damage pool), and increases the pool size on-hit based on DW+ level. Health, Cell, and Coin bonuses are not stackable, the unit only needs to be tagged once for the benefit. Armor stripping, damage amp, and DW+ apply on every hit.

Effect Waves: Before the Death Wave strikes, it is preceded by a series of Effect Waves, offering various utilities to enhance the effectiveness of the Death Wave. The number of Effect Waves is determined by the "Effect Waves" stat. Utilities Provided by Effect Waves:

  • Coin Bonus: Enemies hit by an Effect Wave or the Death Wave drop additional coins upon destruction.
  • Health Bonus: Each enemy hit grants a 0.05% health bonus when destroyed.
  • Cell Bonus: Elite enemies struck yield additional cells.
  • Damage Amplification: Each Effect Wave hit increases the damage dealt by the Death Wave to that enemy.
  • Armor Stripping: Effect Waves strip armor from enemies, reducing their defenses against the Death Wave.
  • Range and Interval: Effect Waves have an infinite range and occur at 4-second intervals.

Damage Wave[edit | edit source]

The damage wave forms with a damage pool of the size listed in the UW tooltip. Each enemy that encounters the damage wave will be destroyed and have the damage needed to do so deducted from the pool size. Amplification effects will reduce the damage needed for this to happen, including DW amp from effect waves, Spotlight, amplification bot, Chain Lightning shock, etc. If there are any gaps / downtime in your amplification effects this will result in enemies that are hit by the amp effect draining a negligible amount of damage from the pool, while the enemies that sneak in without receiving the amp effects will be draining the vast majority of the damage.

The damage wave also applies the health, coin, and cell bonuses on kill if no effect wave touched that enemy.

If your damage wave's pool does not deplete before another one triggers then the damage will stack additively. This means the damage wave will stay up constantly in the beginning of a run until enemy health scaling outpaces your damage, and then it will break very quickly after forming. If you have DW+ then each enemy hit by an effect wave will also add another instance of the dw damage amount to the pool (multiplied by the dw+ effect multiplier). This is a massive boost and will greatly extend how long the damage wave will stay up consistently.

Damage Scaling and Synergies[edit | edit source]

  • Damage Scaling: Adjustments have been made to damage scaling, with significant improvements to the damage module substat (exact values not yet disclosed).
  • Kill Wall Synergy: The Kill Wall ability drastically enhances the Death Wave’s damage, using the number of enemies hit by Effect Waves to boost its power based on the Kill Wall’s strength.
  • Random Ultimate Weapon Perk: The Random Ultimate Weapon version of Death Wave retains the base health bonus, coin bonus, and damage amplification, but does not include the Cell Bonus or Armor Stripping features.

Workshop[edit | edit source]

Basic Upgrades[edit | edit source]

Death Wave Basic Upgrades are located in the Ultimate Weapon menu after unlocking the Ultimate Weapon. Unlocking Death Wave allows the player to upgrade Damage, Effect Wave Quantity and Cooldown using stones.

Costs[edit | edit source]

Damage has 30 levels, Effect Wave Quantity has 4 levels and Cooldown has 20 levels. The total stone cost is 24,666.

Death Wave Health[edit | edit source]

Each Effect Wave hit on a given enemy will boost the damage that enemy takes from the Death Wave (Max of +50x per Effect Wave). Has 30 levels.
